Woolpit Village Hall Trustees Launch Bingo Nights to Boost Improvement Fund

Woolpit Village Hall trustees have swapped board papers for bingo cards as they launched community bingo nights to raise money for improvements to the hall.

The events, which began this spring, are already proving popular with residents of all ages. Lively, good‑humoured, and packed with prizes, the evenings are designed not only to raise funds but also to bring the community together.

All proceeds from the bingo nights are being reinvested directly into the hall, supporting a growing programme of refurbishment works. Trustees have already committed to replacing the ageing hall lights and upgrading the electrical system, and the next major project will focus on refurbishing the entrance area and toilet facilities. These improvements aim to create a brighter, more accessible, and more welcoming environment for the many groups, classes, and private events that rely on the hall each week.

Trustees say the bingo nights are a fun and effective way to support these upgrades while strengthening community spirit. “Every ticket sold helps us move another step closer to the improvements the hall needs,” one trustee explained. “It’s wonderful to see people enjoying themselves while also contributing to the future of this important village asset.”

With more bingo evenings planned on every second Friday of the month throughout the year, the committee hopes even more residents will come along, enjoy the entertainment, and help raise funds for the hall’s continued development.
